The one kilometer long sandy beach of Kalafatis, with side or side-offshore wind from the left, can be used by beginners and experts alike: for everyone there are ideal surfing conditions.

Due to the protected bay, you can't 'drive-off'. In the morning the wind isn't very strong (2-5 Bft) - so good for beginners or advanced surfers. From midday onwards the 'Meltemi' becomes strong (5-7 Bft) and the surfers are able to do good jibe-training on the smooth water!

In front of the center the sea is calm and the water flat. In lee, in front of the fishing village, there is a wind wave good for small jumps and freestyle tricks.

The wave freaks can surf between the two islands of Mykonos and Dragonissi where there are 2-4 meter high waves.

From the center you can reach the wave spot in 8 minutes. During this 2-hour trip one instructor accompanies the group. The rescue boat of the center (Zodiac 480, 50 PS) is there to help if someone is in trouble.
